My favorite sport is baseball. Because I belonged to the softball team from a first grader to a sixth grader not a baseball team. At the first time I was not able to throw a ball well. Then I repeated an practice. And I got a regular when I was fourth grader. I was very very happy!! My parents were very happy, too. Then I took part in the softball game. I still like play softball.

You can watch a baseball game on TV, but you see your friends at school.
Can you catch the difference?
And though sports is a countable noun, you should say "But my favorite sport is soccer."
